200 Strips Later...
Its a story I've shared with you all numerous, numerous times. The creation of Wiik Sauce. But, for those of you who have missed the sordid tale...
It was back around 2002. I was running my anime fansite, and wanted to expand it. I had just gotten into web comics and decided to start one about me and a friend who ran another, similar Anime site. The first storyarc dealt with the two of us trapped inside the Super Mario Bros. video game. It obviously never came to fruition.
In 2006, I decided to acknowledge that I wasn't capable of creating art and was very much a writer, so I began work on my first story, The Origins of The Paladin, which I finally managed to somehow finish on time a year later. During the creation, I began hanging out in a Yahoo! chat room where I met Skwerl, Da Matt, Racoon and a bevy of others. At this time, Skwerl and Da Matt were doing Stink Child Comics once a month in book length stories (you can read these stories on the Stink Child Classics page) and Racoon was doing Residue on Fridays.
Shortly after the completion of OotP, Skwerl announced the site would be changed. SCC would now be single page, 6 panel stories running three times a week, and he was adding more comics to the site, namely his SCC In Toon Town strip that was kind of a hit on DeviantArt. Remembering the story, I pitched it to Skwerl. The original idea was to use Racoon, who had just guest starred in an SCC storyline, and Skwerl himself. Not wanting to feature himself in 3 comics, Skwerl was replaced with a caricature of myself. On October 10, 2007, the very first issue of "Wiik Sauce" went live.
On May 23, 2008, Wiik Sauce hit 100 issues. Me and Skwerl both collectively made this face: 0_0
And so we come to tomorrow. 200 issues of Wiik Sauce is a mind boggling concept, and its been one hell of a trip. Since the 100th issue, I've been started new jobs and lost them one way or another more than once, and been almost homeless a few times too; at least once thought I would have to quit the strip, further refining my love for it and desire to continue it and ended several sessions with a strong desire to kill Skwerl. The characters have gone from Street Fighter II' (our worst arc thanks to my horrible attempt at writing) and Pokemon (our best arc thanks to a terrible amount of research), killed an evil lawyer, encountered mushroom children, and are currently embroiled in a semi-massive crossover with the characters of the SCC strip. Oh yeah, and there was that little side story about Mario going all batshit crazy and killing Sonic the Hedgehog and imprisioning the Princess.
Its been a wild ride, to say the least. And isn't it amazing that we've just barely scratched the surface? There's so many games still planned. A return to the world of Mario is in order, and Zelda and Final Fantasy are coming soon (Hrm...is that spilling too much? Nah.), and we've still not touched on classics like StarFox, Rygar, and others.
(Though I don't think we'll be doing Marble Madness. How do we do a game about Racoon and Chris surrounded by giant balls? Nope, wait, I think we've got it right there.)
Regardless, tomorrow is a huge milestone for myself. Wiik Sauce is my pride and joy, my baby, and something I'm going to continue writing as long as humanly possible. I hope you all join us for the epic #200 tomorrow, and I hope you all continue to enjoy the strip. Thanks for reading guys and gals, you make this all possible.

Congratulations on making it to #200 without all killing each other!
(and thanks for this brief history, because although I read it, I still don't have a clue what's going on half the time!)
